The W4 is part of a very small niche in the ultraportable arena – that of “semi-rugged” laptops – those laptops that can take a little bit more abuse than the typical laptop. It has a 12.1-inch display (non-widescreen unfortunately) and owes its long battery life to the Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) Pentium CPU from Intel.
LaptopLogic.com has put together an in-depth review of the Sony VAIO VGN-TX650P. They have a good list of pros and cons. The TX560P has a widescreen 11.1-inch display (1366×768 resolution) and is powered by an Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) Pentium M, and weighs in at under three pounds.
Michael Gartenberg (Jupiter Research) has selected the Lenovo ThinkPad X41 Tablet PC as the best laptop of 2005. The X41 Tablet PC is the convertible version of the ThinkPad X41, has a 12-inch display (non-widescreen), and is powered by a Low Voltage (LV) Pentium M.
“JakeTheSpud” has written an article over at Tablet PC Blogs, Consolidating my life with the Toshiba M200 about using the Toshiba Portege M200 Tablet PC.
